On July 20, 2017, a consultation workshop to discuss the Draft Framework Document for the management of environmental and social issues, prepared for Agriculture Commercialization Project in Tajikistan (Additional financing) financed by the world Bank was held at Strategic Research Center under the President of Tajikistan.
The purpose of the frameworks for environmental management is ensuring that the rules and procedures of the World Bank and the environmental requirements of the country to assess the potential environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) of the project (both positive and negative), designation of rules and procedures for environmental screening of subprojects and preventive and mitigation measures (including appropriate monitoring plan), elimination or minimization of any projected adverse impacts on the environment and social environment.
The proposed additional financing will support the agenda of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on creating opportunities for income generation and employment for returning migrants, as well as other aspiring entrepreneurs (including women, youth and the disabled). Additional financing tool allows reducing response time to the government's priorities, as this will extend and strengthen the concepts already used in the current ACP Project.
