It should be reminded that since September, 2011 by Order of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan press conference of ministries and agencies of the Republic of Tajikistan is held twice a year.
The press conference was opened by the Director of State Institution “Agricultural Entrepreneurship Development Project Management Unit” Sadullaev Habibulo Naimovich, who in his welcome speech summarized the activities of the project within 6 months of the current year. He noted that during this period under the first component in 12 districts of the republic 33 farmer groups on apricot VCD (Value Chain Development) and 26 groups on milk VCD were formed.
During the reporting period work on raising awareness among the local population about the aims and objectives of our project was held in 20 pilot areas.
Then the press conference was continued by the Deputy Director of State institution “AED PMU” Mr. Karimov Hussein Yusufovich. He has noted that the project is built on reforms that have contributed to strengthening the rights of land ownership, reorganization of farms and giving the farmers freedom of choice in crop production.
The project increases the ability of farmers and entrepreneurs to increase the productivity and efficiency of agricultural production, as well as access to internal and external markets.
During a short presentation on the activities of the project, the Deputy Director explained the project structure, where in particular said that through the 3rd component Tajik farmers will receive information about weather conditions and prices on agricultural products via SMS.
During the press conference AED PMU employees were questioned by journalist on the activities of the project and its implementation. The scope of interest of journalists was not limited to VCD or environmental and social criteria of the project. After the press conference, journalists expressed satisfaction with answers to their questions and gratitude for the attention and support given to them by the AED PMU.
